PODS ARCHIVES

Castlemaine Historical Society has been appointed a “Place of Deposit, Class B.” or POD to hold temporary public records in their collection by the Minister responsible for administering the Public Records Act.

PODs are appointed to hold original, public records from local state government agencies, which are not permanent state archives but may be of interest to a local community and are on open access to the public.
